Allan writes and directs the visual concept for “The Four Seasons”

St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra (maestro Donatas Katkus) invites Oval’s Creative Director, Allan, to write and direct the visual concept of their Christmas concerts: A. Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons”.

The Soloist and Conductor, Concert Master of the Danish Royal Orchestra, Mikkel Futtrup led the concerts.

All 3 concerts were held in St Catherine’s Church in Vilnius and were all sold out.

Oval team wins the EuroMedija 2011 awards

For the second year in a row Oval‘s two TV journalists, Domas and Tautvyde, win the 1st and the 3rd place at the national journalist awards for the best TV journalism.
The juries of the EuroMedija 2011 awards evaluated their work for the TV show “Ideju metas” (Lithuanian national television). Last year Domas and Tautvyde celebrated the win of the 1st and the 2nd price.

Darius wins the Golden Palette as “Best Photographer”

During the 6th annual architectural competition “Interior of the Year 2010” Oval’s photographer, Darius, won the Golden Palette as “Best Photographer”.
The jury consisted of international architects and designers. As the jury noted; the main criteria were put on originality, creativity, aesthetics and professionalism.

Oval takes part in a brand new European concept

Martynas and Darius take part in developing the visual side of the brand new European food concept ČIOP ČIOP – DIY restaurants ČIOPČIOP.LT

The initiative was evaluated in the largest event of internet tendencies in the Baltic States; Login 2011.

ČIOP ČIOP was nominated in two categories in the main competition: “Best Design” and “Start up”.

Allan gives lecture: Are Danes really funny?

The Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania invited Oval’s Creative Director, Allan, to give a lecture on the theme “Danish Humour”.
Why are Danish films so popular in Lithuania? Why do Lithuanians relate to Danish humour? How come Danish humour is often ironic, sarcastic or makes direct fun of minorities or taboos?
Approximately 50 people participated and the lecture and lead to a live TV interview on Lithuanian National TV’s morning program Labas Rytas. The lecture caught the news portal Alfa.lt’s interest that brought an in depth interview on the topic “A Dane living in Lithuania: Lithuanian’s believe the grass is greener on the other side”

The lecture was the first in 2011 of Nordic Council of Minister’s Office in Lithuania’s monthly events “Second Tuesday”

The Latvia–Lithuania Cross Border Cooperation Programme invited Ovals’ producer, Domas, to give a course on Creative PR. All together about 60 participants attended the seminars.

The seminar‘s focus points were:
•   Presentation and communication skills;
•   Learning how to form a clear, strong and catchy message;
•   Exchange experience of developing project communication tools;
•   Skills on how to attract media attention to their project.

Vilnius CO2 Green Drive 2010 – the biggest electric cars event in Lithuania

While e-cars for many people are still future dreams, “Vilnius CO2 Green Drive” proved that time for a change is right here. Due to increasing interest in privat and public the real actions during “Vilnius CO2 Green drive” took place – not only the first Lithuanian electric car was registered but also the first charging station was opened.
A long parade of electric and hybrid vehicles brought to the centre of Vilnius an amazing number of spectators who also witnessed how a huge virtual CO2 painting on Google Earth was created. If there was anyone doubting how fast e-car can be – the overwhelming Drag Race didn’t leave any hesitations – the famous American electric car, the Tesla, won the competition against the fastest fuel engine cars.
Vilnius CO2 Green Drive was organized by the Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania, the Danish Cultural Institute, the CO2 E-race organization, the European Commission representation in Lithuania, Vilnius Municipality and the Lithuanian Ministry of Transportation. Oval executed Vilnius CO2 Green Drive, 2010. Delegates from the mentioned institutions together with other Nordic and Baltic speakers also participated in international conference “Green Cars in Lithuania – BIG possibilities for a SMALL country” and drew the strategic perspectives of Electric mobility in Lithuania.
“Vilnius CO2 Green Drive” is already planned to take place in Lithuania in 2011 – so let’s get ready for a new e-storm!

Photo Studio Cyclopes join hands with Oval

Photo Studio Cyclopes join hands with Oval and shoots the key visual for the “Vilnius CO2 Green Drive” poster and website. The famous Lithuanian photographer Saulius Serapinas did the shoot together with Oval’s Art Director Martynas Kazimierenas. The postproduction was done by Karolis Poliksa. The car on the poster and website is the privately owned Lithuanian electric car JonElis which can be seen during the event.
The International interactive art and climate event “Vilnius CO2 Green Drive” is organized by the Nordic Council of Ministers office in Lithuania, the Danish Cultural Institute, the CO2 E-Race organization, the European Commission Representation in Lithuania and Vilnius Municipality. The Guardian of the project is the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the project is executed by Oval.

Vilnius CO2 Green Drive will take place on October 23, 2010 on Vilnius Town Hall Square. The official Drag Race between the fastest fuel engine cars and some of the fastest electric cars in the world will take place on Maironio street, in Vilnius, the same day.

Oval presents the international event – “Vilnius CO2 Green Drive”

For the first time, on October 23rd 2010, the international environmental cultural event – Vilnius CO2 Green Drive – will come to Lithuania. With a successful history in Copenhagen, Milan and Riga and a planned continuation in Los Angeles, New York, Sao Paolo and Beijing – the hottest electric and low CO2 omission cars and vehicles from all over the world are ready to come to Vilnius!

Equipped with GPS tracking devices, Vilnius CO2 Green Drive’s parade will drive through Vilnius, painting a huge “CO2” sign marking Vilnius to the outside world as a green city aware of the climate issues we are facing today!
During the event in the very heart of Vilnius’ old town – Vilnius Town Hall Square (Rotušės aikštėje) – a lot of green lifestyle activities will take place (eco-design, eco-games for kids, eco-food, eco-drive and much more).

Some of the world’s newest and fastest electric cars will be presented in the best fashion style on Vilnius CO2 Green Drive catwalk. The event will finish with a spectacular Drag Race between fuel engine cars and some of the fastest electric cars in world.

The event is supported by Nordic Council of Ministers office in Lithuania, Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, Vilnius municipality and many other international partners.
