“Park ‘79” & “When People Meet” by Allan
Experimental feature film and full length documentary for Vilnius, European Capital of Culture, 2009. Is an experimental feature film (85 minutes) testing: “What would happen if filmmakers discover their main character parallel to the progression of the plot?”
The film was shot in Belgium, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Italy and Lithuania by five film crews not knowing what the story was about. As the film was shot and the story progressed, all film crews received small, carefully selected, pieces of the script in chronological order. In this way all filmmakers never knew the exact and complete script, but only knew exactly as much as their own character while making the film. In this way all filmmakers were taken on the same journey as their on character, and discovered their story parallel to the progression of the plot. – all filmmakers only knew exactly as mush as their own main character during the creation of Park ‘79.
The full length documentary film “Park ‘79” (54 minutes, 2009), written and directed by Martina Jablonskyte, documented the complex concept and the process of making “Park ‘79”.
Allan van O. T. Andersen was the initiator and creator of both films. He was responsible for the original idea and concept development as well as for writing the feature script in collaboration with Saulius Drunga. Kristina Buožytė was the Lithuanian director of the film.
Both films premiered in Lithuania’s biggest cinema hall on December 16, 2009.
Both films were produced for Vilnius, European Capital of Culture 2009.
